It’s a dismal fact we as south Louisiana outdoorsmen don’t like to acknowledge. When we have the world’s best estuary for all kinds of fishing, it’s hard to admit that someone else has something we do not. The sad truth is that Florida has bigger trout than Louisiana. In fact, their state record is 17 lbs and 7 oz! But why is this the case? Using what I already know about trout, I shed some light on this phenomenon.

It learns or it gets the hose again!

That addiction, the craving, the totally irrational desire for hoards of speckled trout is like a metaphorical deep hole we are held prisoner in.

But there is escape…we must learn.
